Rising to the Occasion During the Nation's Most Difficult Moment
Following the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, properties throughout lower Manhattan were blanketed in dust and debris. Maxons was called upon to provide a massive, coordinated response to help restore a sense of normalcy to the area and allow people to safely return to their homes and places of business. Over a 90 day period, Maxons' project managers oversaw the clean-up and restoration of over 50 high-rise office buildings, hundreds of businesses, 3,000 residences, and important landmarks such as St. Paul's Chapel and Trinity Church. Maxons is proud of the role we played helping our fellow citizens recover from this unprecedented disaster.

Our Founding Father
Maxons' founder, Max Gersh is an internationally celebrated pioneer of the disaster restoration industry. Starting in 1929 with a door-to-door laundering and rug cleaning company throughout lower Manhattan, Max modernized operations and broadened the scope of services over the next few decades. By 1945 his company, 'Services for the Home' was performing complete cleaning and home repair services for homeowners throughout the Northeast including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Hartford. The '7/24 Restoration Services' division was developed to handle all emergency property damage restoration work for the insurance industry.
