Madame Tussauds' Wax Museum Flood
Shuts Down Five Floors

FEATURED PROJECT
Mat Sanderleaf, Project Manager

Times Square, NY.

During the recent cold weather a high pressure water filtration system cracked and burst during the night in this renowned landmark attraction which caused a free flow of water throughout the building for several hours. The water affected museum areas, offices, shops, wax displays, etc. caused damage to carpeting, walls, floors and fixtures from the fifth floor to the ground level.

MAXONS’ project management team was on-site within one (1) hour and immediately created a scope of work and work plan to mitigate the damages and limit the disruption of their business operations. MAXONS’ emergency service crews worked through the night to remove all saturated materials, provide protection for the valuable displays and begin the structural drying process.

All of the affected floors were completely dried within (3) three days so necessary repairs could commence without delay. Throughout the job, the crews were always among good company, surrounded by some of history’s most famous people and everyone seemed to genuinely appreciate the quick response to get their world famous home back in order.
